gallucios bars in Wilmington,delaware,my cousins,lost a business rival,palas café.palas was from the forties,before unions,it was segregated,there probably were anti-Italian and irish and jewish bigots,zoning laws.dictators and aristocrats ran much of the wordl,no women ran anything.italy had aristocrats and fascists and no women or young people.it was very anti-communist.vp biden and his staff are regulars at my cousins bars,they may have sold them,there's a restaurant now at lewes beach.vp biden started his career in civil rights and worked for liberal causes his whole career.my cousins opened their bar around then.jerry was short who opened the bar.it was in a rough neighborhood.he was part irish.it was a pro-English state.wilmington elected it's first black mayor not very long ago.the blacks there have never done well.i heard it's always been crime-ridden.tom capano went to my cousins bars.he helped elect the citys first black mayor and was going to run for attorney general.they found him dead in his jail cell he wasn't very old.he was one of the great hopes for little Italy.delaware now has democrats in top offices.they had a female governor.there's an at-large Puerto rican city councilwoman who can run for mayor.i doubt they've done too well either.i have a Puerto rican cousin there.it's a barrio.the whole right wing may have hated my cousins bars.i hear those can be dangerous.business and politics were rougher.little Italy almost went under in the 1980's and so did Italy recently.it's always had problems.i'm pretty sure the right hates vp biden.there's less of the right in Delaware.the tea party has organizations there.they're against immigration mostly,and taxes and o'bamacare.tom capano worked for democrats most of his life.he did work for rep.castle who whose career was ended by the tea party.i think rep castle is friends with the bush's.however,a pala business gave to rep castle.maybe they later helped end his career.anne marie fahey who died was also immigrant stock and worked for rep carper,a newly elected democrat I think.not much happened to the other mistress.the tea party is old democrats and republicans largely big in red,right-wing states.they hate Hispanics and the rest of that stuff.aristocrats used to run the country.did they kill tom capano?a lot of italo-americans there seem to die young.

dc's getting better,it's safer,for some reason all the criminals and racists seem to have left or at least they're not harassing everyone.not locally.maybe they're still around.you don't see them on mt.pleasant street in the daytime at least,and it looked like some were from out of town.women don't seem to be harassed as much.the good Hispanics didn't seem to like them.it looks like it might be true in the black community also.annacostia didn't seem so troubled.it's less tense and seems less dangerous and corrupt.
